Archer is a sex-positive and body-positive community where consent is key. All interactions on the platform must be consensual; not gaining consent from another user before sharing content can result in the temporary or permanent ban of your profile. For more information on consent, please see our Consent Guide.
Below we outline our photo rules in detail. Photos containing any of the prohibited content listed below may be flagged and deleted. Depending on the content, they may also result in your account being banned. If you see a photo that violates these rules, please report it to us.
If a photo has been removed from your account you will be informed via email and warned that repeated offenses might get you banned. This warning isn’t a fake one; we will ban your account for multiple infractions.
Your privacy is important to us. Please note that photos in your private album and messages will be deleted after 30 days of account inactivity.
Archer Photo Rules at a Glance:
- Avatar photos must be of you and must show your face. AI-generated photos are NOT allowed as an Avatar.
-
You are not allowed to post the following on Archer anywhere

- Extreme or obscene nudity, commercial pornography, or depictions of sex acts

- Photos with contact information in them
Profile Photos
Your avatar photo must show your face and be clearly, recognizably you. It may not contain any nudity or explicit content. It must be of you and only you.
Archer is a place for being unapologetically yourself, where you can make genuine connections. On Archer we encourage you to be bold and celebrate who you are.
Lifestyle photos of you should accurately show who you are as a person. Your lifestyle photos should be unique (no repeats). All photos should be right-side-up; upside-down or horizontal photos will be deleted. The following types of photos are not allowed in the Profile Photos section:
- Photos depicting nudity, sexual, obscene, or other explicit content
- Legal Promotion
For multiple offenses or extreme cases regarding profile photo rule violations, profiles may be banned and removed.
You should always ask for consent prior to privately sharing content. Please use your best judgment when sharing photos, and for more information about consent, check out our Consent Guide here.
Hateful, Illegal, or Violent Imagery
Any photos with hateful imagery, or anything overtly violent, offensive, illegal, disturbing, or otherwise inappropriate will be removed and may also get you banned. For example:
- Images, logos, or hand signs/gestures for hate groups
- Hateful memes
- Some images with guns or other weapons in them; find more details below:
- Photos of weapons without you in them, or weapons being pointed at the camera, are definitely not allowed
- A photo of you with a weapon at a shooting range or as an officer in uniform may be acceptable, but context is important and any photo that is seen to be threatening or otherwise inappropriate by our community will be removed.
- Drugs
- Images that are bloody or violent (including some hunting photos, horror/gore photos, etc.)
- Images of self-harm, or images showing harm to others
- Images showing someone's contact information or physical address, or any photo of someone that is not you and from whom you did not receive consent
We take ALL reports of hateful, illegal, or violent imagery seriously. This means that even images posted ironically or as a joke will be removed if they violate our terms. We want our users to feel safe on Archer, which means protecting them from unexpectantly encountering images that may be upsetting or retraumatizing.
Photos that Include Children
We recognize that some parents want to be open about having children on their profiles, but Archer is an adults-only space. Archer does not allow ANY images of minors on the app.
Any images of children or minors will be removed, this includes photos of yourself as a child. Photos, drawings, or other depictions of children in inappropriate or illegal situations will result in your account being banned and may require us to report them to the appropriate authorities.
Images Posted without Permission
Posting photos without the express permission of the owner/copyright holder violates the owner's consent and is against our Terms of Service. Before posting any image that is not yours, or that shows another person, make sure you have obtained the necessary permissions. Below is a non-exhaustive list of examples where your photo may be removed for violating permission rules:
- Photos either where the photographer or other copyright holder complained, or where we have reason to believe you are not the copyright holder.
- Revenge porn or explicit photos of another person
- Photos with your contact information, or the contact information of someone else (see next section for more details)
- Chat or message screenshots with another person
- Group or couples photos where the other person has complained
Photos Including Contact Information
As discussed in our Community Guidelines, we do not allow anyone to post private information for public display. This includes not only your private information but also the private information of others.
We will remove any photos that we find to have personal contact information in them; repeated violations of this policy may result in a ban. Any account that is posting the private information of another person will be banned.
Some examples of personal contact information are:
- Full names
- Addresses
- Employment or school details
- Phone numbers
- Social media handles
- Banking information (including cashapp and Venmo)
- Any type of QR code or weblink
Reporting
Please help keep the Archer community safe by reporting anything that does not meet the photo rules above. Please see this help article for detailed information on in-app reporting.
A Note on Inaccurate and/or Retaliatory Reporting
In some cases, we will ban an account if we’ve found it to be intentionally creating inaccurate and/or retaliatory reports against other users. This includes flagging and reporting trans, nonbinary, or gender-nonconforming users for no reason other than their gender or orientation, as well as reporting users simply for their race, ethnicity, disability, nationality, or religion. Creating intentionally misleading reports of bad behavior is also not tolerated.
Inactivity
Your privacy is important to us. Photos in your private album and photos sent in messages will be deleted after 30 days of your account being inactive.
