What Are Trophies?

Trophies are behavior-verified badges that show how you play, who you’re into, and what types of connections you engage with. They are earned through real activity on Archer, not just self-descriptions.

Why Do Trophies Matter?

• Authentic expression: Transparently show what you like and how you engage.
• Discoverability: Spot guys who share your style or are into what you’re into.
• Credibility: Since they’re earned via real behavior on the app, Trophies give others a more accurate sense of who you are.
• Fun & flex: Collecting, showing, and sharing Trophies adds a playful layer to your profile.
   

How Are Trophies Earned?

You unlock a Trophy by doing specific things such as liking, messaging, or engaging with particular tags. Example criteria include:

• Initiating messages or liking users with specific tags or tag categories
• Uploading or sharing private albums
• Selecting multiple kink or identity tags
   

Each Trophy has its own criteria, and you can see details in the Trophy detail screen.

How to Manage Your Trophies

New Trophies are previewed to you privately before being shown. You always choose what appears on your profile.

• Drag and Drop (Primary Method)
  In your Trophy hub, you can drag Trophies between Pinned, Visible, and Hidden sections. This is the main way to control what shows on your profile.
• Tap for More Options (Secondary Method)
  When you tap on a Trophy, you can:
  • Control if it’s visible or hidden
  • See more users who also hold the same Trophy
  • Choose to share the Trophy to social
     

👉 Important: If you choose to hide a Trophy, it is not publicly visible. Hidden Trophies will not appear on your public profile, nor in any Trophy-based discovery flows.

Alternative Discovery Flow

When you tap a Trophy on someone else's profile:

1. You see what that Trophy means.
2. You’ll be shown a row of Featured Trophy Holders, people nearby or relevant with the same Trophy. These are selected using a blend of popularity, recency, and distance.
3. Featured users refresh weekly, so you always have fresh faces to discover.
4. Below the featured row is a grid of up to 150 other users with that Trophy.
     

Other Things You Should Know

• Trophies are earned, not manually assigned.
• Some users may choose to hide certain Trophies. Hidden Trophies are never visible to others.
• Kink-based Trophies are only shown in Hookup Mode.
• New Trophies drop every week, so even if you don’t have many now, more opportunities are coming.

Profiles alone can’t express moment-to-moment intent. Statuses give you a way to signal when you’re actively available. Your current Looking For mode shows your general vibe, and statuses let you signal what you’re up for right now.

After selecting your current Looking For mode, you’ll be prompted to add a status. Choose how long you’d like the status to stay active for: just tonight, 1 hour, 4 hours, or the weekend. You’ll get a reminder when your status is about to expire. 

If you switch Looking For modes with a current status, you’ll be asked if you want to keep your previous status or update it to match your new mode. 

When a profile has an active status, you’ll see a purple ring surrounding their profile avatar. Tap their status and you’ll see the option to slide into their DMs.

Craving a date, a new friend, or a no-strings hookup? Maps lets you see who’s around—right here, right now. Whether they’re around the block or across the park, your next connection could be closer than you think.

How it works:

Maps is an optional feature that shows your approximate distance from someone you’re checking out. When you’re viewing a profile, tap the map to expand it.

You’ll see your general location in relation to theirs—and if the vibe’s right, go ahead and slide into their DMs. 

Maps only works if both of you opt in. No mutual interest? No location shown. Simple as that.

Can I opt out?

Totally. You’re in control. To stop sharing your approximate location, head to:
Profile > Safety > Map Display toggle.
This turns off your location and hides everyone else’s from you, too.

I’ve opted in, so where’s the map?

If you’re in Hookup mode, the map will be shown directly below their profile image. 

If you’re using a Looking For mode like Friends or Dating, the map appears a little further down the profile—just scroll past their photos and bio.

Or, they may have opted out of location sharing. No map unless you’re both in.

A new way to find a friend, fun, or the one.

Whether you're looking for a hookup, a date, or just a new friend, we've got you covered. Now, you can choose the mode that fits your vibe, set your intentions, and connect with others who are on the same page.

Three Different Modes

🍆 Hookup: 

• Gives priority to nearby users and highlights physical and sexual details for easier matching.
• When you see someone you want to hook up with, tap the eggplant icon in the bottom right or send them a message. You can explore different parts of their profile to help you craft the perfect opener.

❤️ Date: 

• Prioritizes users who are likely a good match based on your profile, with greater focus on hobbies, interests, career, and education.
• Think they’d make a great date? Tap the heart in the bottom right to show your interest. You’ll get a closer look at their profile to help you send a thoughtful first message.  

👋 Friends: 

• Prioritizes users whom we think you’re compatible with, based on your profile. 
• Looking to make a new friend? Tap the waving hand icon in the bottom right to say hello. You’ll be able to browse their profile to help you start the conversation off right.
  
  

How do I change my Looking For mode?

• You can change your mode at any time by tapping the emoji of your current mode located in the top left corner.

What does it look like when someone Likes you using one of the Looking For modes? 

• When viewing people who have Liked you, you’ll see whether that person sent you a 🍆 hookup, a ❤️ date, or a 👋 friendship

Received a Double Like? 

• Users can now like you in multiple ways. You may receive an eggplant and a heart from the same user. 
• This will show up as two separate notifications in your Likes You tab, in order of when they were sent. 

What if I accidentally sent a 🍆Hookup instead of a ❤️Date. Can I change it?

• Currently, users are unable to change the mode in which they sent their interest to another user.

What are Archer Communities? 

Archer Communities are spaces where you can chat about interests, check out events & discover new people.

How do I join Archer Communities? 

Joining Archer Communities is free and optional. You can find them in your inbox next to messages. Just click any community to join the conversation and accept our community guidelines.

After joining a community you can start posting and responding to posts with text and photos (see our photo rules). Long press on a message to send reactions and see who reacted to you. We won’t send you a notification every time there is a post - so make sure to check back to see what’s going on!

Click on the participant icon on the top right to see a grid of other community members. You can always reach out directly to anyone you meet in the community.

What communities are available? 

Right now, here are the available communities. Pride communities will be available until July.

How do I leave a community? 

Simply click on the community name and you can tap Leave community.

Reporting

Inappropriate behavior can be reported by tapping the profile name and report, selecting the reason for the report, confirming the information by providing a brief summary of the issue, and selecting submit. 

Real talk: A hot pic can be a nice surprise. But if it's a little too extra, our algorithm tries to recognize that and allows you to decide whether or not you want to view it. We don't want any surprises to be unwelcome ones!

When you have been sent a pic that we think may contain nudity, Archer will blur it and warn you before you decide to open it. If you do want to view it, just tap the photo to confirm that you want to see it. If you like what you see, enjoy the view! But if the pic crosses the line you can block the user. Bye! The chat will be removed from your message list and you’ll no longer be able to view one another's profiles.

You can find blocked users, and reference message history, on your block list in your settings. And don’t forget, you can report a user at any time. Our algorithm is all about helping you get fewer eye sores and more eye candy. Please keep our Photos Rules in mind when interacting with other users on Archer.

At Archer, we’re committed to fostering a safe space for all. For this reason, a profile can be unavailable for multiple reasons.

A user may be temporarily unavailable if:

• They’re updating their profile content because we’ve detected a violation of our photo rules or their profile content needs to be edited.
• They’re under review for a potential violation of our Community Guidelines.

A user may be unavailable for a longer period if

• They’ve deleted their account
• They’ve been banned
• They’ve blocked your profile

To hide unavailable users, you can remove them from your view by blocking them. Learn more about blocking.

Private albums provide an easy way to share photos with other users in messages that may be too sensitive or private to share publicly. You have complete control over who has access to your private album; you can share your private album with other users, and should you decide you no longer want someone to have access, you can revoke their access without them being notified.

What rules apply to photos in my private album?

As a reminder, get consent before sharing any content in messages or Private Albums. That said, it's not okay to share:

• Images depicting anything illegal, including drugs
• Commercial pornography, extreme or obscene nudity, or depictions of sex acts
• Explicit photos of others
• Violent imagery
• CSAM (child sexual abuse material)
• Any photos of underage people (even if it’s you as a kid)
• Contact info (like banking QR codes)
• Any images posted without permission
• Anything considered solicitation, spam/scamming, or catfishing

How do I create a private album?

You can create a private album via your Profile and in Chat.

Via Profile

1. Tap on your Profile icon in the bottom navigation bar.
2. Tap on My Archer 
3. Tap on My Private Album
4. If you haven’t reviewed our photo policies yet, you will be prompted to review our Private Album Guidelines before creating it.
5. After you’ve reviewed the guidelines, you can add photos to your private album by tapping on either Add from Photo Library or Add from Camera.

How many photos can I have in my private album?

At this time, members can create one private album with up to six photos in the album.

How do I share my private album?

To share your private album with someone, first, make sure you have their consent to send it to them. Then go to the Archer app and complete the following steps:

1. Tap on Messages in the bottom navigation bar.
2. In Messages, tap on the chat with the user you would like to share your private album with.
3. Tap on the “+” icon in the bottom left corner.
4. Tap on Share Private Album.
5. If you haven’t created your private album yet, you will be prompted to review our Private Album Guidelines before creating, and then you'll need to complete the following steps:
   • Add photos to your private album by tapping on either Add from Photo Library or Add from Camera.
   • Once you’ve completed creating your private album, tap on Share in the top right corner.
6. If you've already created a private album, you will be prompted to Share or Manage Album.

How can I revoke someone’s access to my private album?

To revoke access to your private album, go to the Archer app and complete the following steps:

1. Tap on Profile in the bottom right of the navigation bar.
2. Tap on My Private Album
3. Tap on Shared in the top right corner above your photos.
4. Tap Select
5. Select the members whose access you would like to revoke
6. Tap Revoke access at the bottom of the screen
   • You should no longer see the member on the access list
   • The person whose access has been revoked will not be notified, but may realize that you’ve revoked their access

You can also block anyone you no longer want to have access to your private album and profile.

Why is my photo under review?

We want our community to abide by the Community Guidelines and to feel safe and protected. All photos uploaded to your Private Album will be reviewed by AI to see if they contain any of the prohibited content listed in our Photo Rules. Your photo will remain “under review” until it is confirmed that it complies with our guidelines. 

 Why do I see “this content doesn’t meet our photo rules”?

If AI flags a photo, it will then be reviewed by our moderation team to determine whether or not it contains any prohibited content. If a photo has been removed from your account, it means that it does not comply with our Photo Rules. You will be informed of this via email and warned that repeated offenses will get you banned. This warning isn’t a fake one; we will ban your account for multiple infractions. 

Why has my private album been reset? 

Your privacy is important to us. Photos in your private album and photos sent in messages will be deleted after 30 days of your account being inactive.

Why is a private album shared with me now unavailable? Why do I no longer have access?

There could be multiple reasons why you may no longer have access to someone’s private album.

• They may have deleted their account.
• They may have revoked your access to the private album. 
• Their account may be under review while we determine whether or not it follows our Community Guidelines.
• Their account may have been disabled for going against our terms and guidelines.
• Their private album may have been reset due to 30 days of inactivity.
